Shower Time!

AJ's coworker's wives threw me a baby shower at 419 West on September 20th. I had never been to 419 before and it is a beautiful restaurant! We were there first thing on a Sunday so it was quiet and we kinda had the place to ourselves. Yummy food and great company! It was perfect because the ladies gave us the last few things that we really need for his arrival! Thank you all!!

Family Shower

My family had a baby shower for me over Labor Day Weekend in Bluefield. It was so nice to see everyone and we had a lot of fun! Mamaw Shirley made my most favorite cake... her coconut cake. I'm telling you, it's better than anything you can get at a bakery!! A special thank you to my Aunt Patty for putting it together. :)

Baby Shower!!

On August 15th, Jessica gave me my first baby shower! It was held at Corned Beef & Co in downtown Roanoke and I invited my 8 oldest girlfriends... some of whom I hadn't seen at all since being pregnant! Only 4 and my mom were able to attend but we had a blast! We had dinner, painted onesies (cutest idea!), ate cake, opened presents, and laughed... A LOT. I was feeling very good that night and decided that we should stay out a little late and ended up at 202 Market. We ended up dancing a little bit until I got really hot and really tired. haha It was so much fun though!!

Baby Registeries

And because I've had many inquiries... we are registered at Target and Babies R Us! Our Target is not the best so we are mostly at BRU but the bedding and room decor goodies are at Target because they were cheaper!

Week 28 Picture

Definitely grew between weeks 24 and 28!! I am starting to feel a little huge... little did I know that my belly would only get bigger & bigger!

27 Weeks

Still playing catch up on posts but this sonogram was from our appointment at 27 weeks and it is my FAVORITE so far. Such a teeny foot!!

Nursery Decor!

I know, I know... Life has gotten in the way and I haven't updated in 12 weeks! In the next few days, I'll try and post a few updates. :)

The picture above is the baby's room. Our theme/bedding is Jungle Babies by NoJo. I knew I wanted animals and these were just too cute! After going back & forth between colors for a week, the walls were painted a pumpkin/cantaloupe color to match the color in the border and the window valances. The border went up next and is all around the room. There is NO WAY AJ & I would have had the time to do all of this so my mom has been a lifesaver! She painted the walls, the trim, her & my dad hung the border, she hung the curtain rods & valences, hung the blinds, bought the rug.... I mean, I could go on & on! As you can see from the picture, it is absolutely PERFECT!

AJ & I are going to go watch a movie but I will post more pictures this week!! :)

24 Week Update

24 weeks down, 16 to go! 16?? Whoa... that's not too far away!

Pregnancy has been good so far! He's a healthy little boy and I thankfully haven't had any issues besides my sinuses acting up, fatigue, and back pain. But hey if I can slide by with just those 3 things, I'm pretty lucky compared to some!

He's a squirmy little guy.. he moves around some in the morning but really starts going around 2pm and continues until about 5pm. He settles down and then starts back up around 7-8pm. (He's actually kicking right now!) Even though they are getting a little stronger, AJ hasn't been able to feel him yet but I have a feeling that will soon change.

Still haven't picked a name... we have one in mind that we've agreed on but haven't made that commitment yet. Naming someone is a huge deal! He's going to have this name... well... forever, ya know?

Going to the beach next weekend for a week for the annual family trip with 50 of my closest family members so we are very excited for that. You think buying a swimsuit is hard when you have put on a few extra pounds over the winter? Try gaining a BABY in your belly and looking for one! I will never complain again....

Baby Update

I am 17 weeks along today!

We had a doctor's appointment last Tuesday and finally met our doctor who should be delivering the baby. She is very nice and I liked her. She answered all of my questions and did not make me feel stupid so that always good. :) Didn't get an ultrasound (booo) but we did get to hear the baby's heartbeat!! A very strong 150 beats a minutes... (http://www.babygenderprediction.com/babys-heart-rate.html still says we're having a girl!)

We go back on May 27th for the glucose test (yuck) and the ultrasound to find out the sex!!! I am beyond excited about that! I am, and have been, leaning towards one side the entire pregnancy but you never know! It is a 50/50 chance of either sex.

Pregnancy is still pretty uneventful.. never had morning sickness so that was great. Still tired and experiencing sinus headaches so that kinda stinks but it could be worse. The newest issue is this whole crying thing.. hormones are raging and I have cried at least twice a day since Tuesday. AND I HAVE NO IDEA WHY I'M CRYING!!! Friday night was the worse because I was sobbing after watching my DVRed Private Practice and ran into the bedroom where AJ was sleeping. My racket woke him up and he was such the great husband and asked what was wrong. I couldn't spit it out without wanting to cry harder and finally realized how funny it was. I then proceeded to laugh hysterically & sob at the same time. Oh my....

Thank god I have a tolerant husband! I love you AJ!

Icky

The past week has been very interesting...

I thought I was starting with morning sickness. My mom was so sick when she was pregnant with me that she had to drop school for the semester so I am nervous that it will be bad for me since supposedly if your mother had morning sickness, so will you. It all started last Thursday with me feeling "icky", as I like to say. I wasn't naseated to the point where I wanted to throw up, I just didn't feel very well at all. It continued all through the weekend with Sunday being the worse day. I stayed in bed until 3pm because I was so tired and felt so bad. I got up and was still exhausted but when I would lay down, it would feel sick! I couldn't win!!! I felt like a zombie walking around the house. (God bless AJ for putting up with me!)

I felt like this until I woke up on Thursday and BAM! I felt great! I also felt great today so I think I may have just been sick. I have started eating more often and less at a time so that is keeping something on my stomach so that's good. I don't know.. I can only cross my fingers and hope that I'm lucky and do not get morning sickness. I cannot handle being sick on a normal day, much less when I'm pregnant! haha

We're Pregnant!!!!

As of today, I am 7 weeks and 4 days pregnant!!! Due date is set at October 11, 2009 so clear your calendars.. it's going to be a fun 7 months!! We are so lucky that we were able to get pregnant so quickly. Our families & friends are ecstatic for us and our baby is going to be so loved. We are truly blessed!
